All data you enter into Flare Journal is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework with NSFileProtectionComplete encryption. Your data is never uploaded to any server, cloud service, or external system.

HealthKit integration is entirely optional and requires your explicit permission. HealthKit data is never used for advertising, marketing, or shared with third parties. All HealthKit data processing occurs on your device.
Flare Journal is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Clinical scores are computed using published scoring indices and should be interpreted by your healthcare provider. Do not make treatment decisions based solely on this app.
Flare Journal can send local notifications to remind you to log your daily scores. These notifications are generated entirely on your device and do not involve any external push notification service.
You may choose to export your data as JSON or CSV (e.g. to share with your doctor). This is entirely at your discretion, and the exported data is shared only with the recipient you choose. The developer is never involved in this process.
You can delete all your data at any time through Settings within the app, or by deleting the app from your device. Deletion is immediate and permanent. There are no backups on external servers.
Your data is retained on your device for as long as the app is installed and you choose to keep it. The developer does not retain any copy of your data at any time.
Flare Journal does not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app may be used by minors under the supervision of a parent or guardian for tracking conditions such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
Flare Journal does not integrate with any third-party services, analytics platforms, advertising networks, or cloud providers. The app contains no third-party code that collects or processes user data.
If this privacy policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL. Since the app collects no data externally, significant changes are unlikely.
